Sponsored content policy

Sponsorship at A7i is clearly labelled and kept separate from editorial. This policy sets out how.

Labelling

Sponsored material carries the label Sponsored on the item itself, in the same position as the Reporting and Analysis labels, and names the sponsor. It is kept apart from reporting, The Wire, the datasets and every data graphic.

Editorial control

A7i's editorial coverage, including coverage of the sponsor, remains fully independent of every sponsor. Coverage within a sponsored section is decided on editorial grounds alone.

Standards every sponsorship meets

• Sponsored content is clearly distinguishable from independent reporting.
• Sponsorship is independent of coverage, of the removal of coverage and of prior sight of unpublished editorial.
• Figures supplied by a sponsor are used once A7i has independently sourced them.
